The Shapers Blog Begins…

Welcome to www.sauritchsurfboards.com surfing blog. Over the next few months I will be taking an indepth look at surfboard dynamics.

This will be a critical examination of design features found on surfboards. Hopefully some of the myths / misconceptions can be disposed of after we are done.

In the mean time check out www.sauritchsurfboards.com for info on getting a custom surfboard shaped.

    Greg,

Josh, Surf has been sort of strange and weak this winter, but at least fun. Business is slow, but picking up.
    Good to hear from you.

Good to see the blog up. Thanks again for all the time talking to me about the new big guy shortboard I picked up in Feb, as someone not the “standard” surfer size the board is perfect for working down in board size slowly. Hoping for good surf for this weekend!

Glad to hear your staying ‘afloat’ in this economy. Rincon has been good lately, and the boards have felt glued to my feet!

greg’s board simply work! and i can’t wait to ride my new roundtail quad/five fin when she’s done. i like surfing twin fin boards for their loose and skatey-ness, you think that going to a quad will be much different?

    Greg!
It was great catching up with you, I can’t wait to order a new performance stick from you. Is it good or bad that you make REALLY good boards that work? the board I have from you is 2-3 years old and still ripping strong. I’ll take one of every model you got! haha

    Greg -

Just took out my fish I picked up from you yesterday…awesome!! Speedy, paddles great, and got a bunch of compliments on the design too. I was suprised at how fast it was in the little crumbly crap on offer this morning. Thanks again man…the board works great!!

Hey Greg, good to see the blog up and running, and hope all is well in San Diego - I had my first surf today down here after being out of the water for 3 months due to my fractured shoulder - all good, but surfing over a reef kept me on my toes. Cheers from down under- Ian

  19. Joe Russo says:

Hi Greg! I met you at Mister Tiki downtown a few months ago and we talked board design for a good hour or so… I’m sure your wife was thrilled to listen haha… Anyway, looking to order a board from you pretty soon and want to talk to you about what I should get if possible… I think Tony (the bartender) is thinking about ordering one too!

  20. Harry Price says:

eps/epoxy quad is the way to go for so. cal waves.
my roundtail modern one from Greg is so light and lively, the quad was very quick to get use to and have tried it as a thruster as it have 5 fcs fusion plugs and it was a like kelp on the leash feeling… no center fin and all that fin on the rail with the quad setup is extremely efficient. Surfed my buddies Griffin 5 fin and it even felt like a dog in comparison… order a sauritch epoxy quad and improve you surfing.
