This new creation worked well during that big summer swell we had with water temps in the mid 70’s! It is now called the “Butterknife”, with a single wing roundtail and 5 boxes. This lets you ride the board as a tri fin, quad or a twin fin with a small trailing fin. This board is 6′-0 x 20 3/8″ x 2 1/2″ thick, with a slight single concave, running into deep double concaves between the fins. It has a fuller nose and tail, giving it good paddling ability and great turning capabilities. The roundtail makes for smooth cutbacks. This is a must in any quiver. Order it 2-3 inches shorter, while keeping the same thickness as your standard shortboard.

Welcome to www.sauritchsurfboards.com surfing blog. Over the next few months I will be taking an indepth look at surfboard dynamics.
This will be a critical examination of design features found on surfboards. Hopefully some of the myths / misconceptions can be disposed of after we are done.
In the mean time check out www.sauritchsurfboards.com for info on getting a custom surfboard shaped.
