Owen Kaestner just about to dip into some more rust-colored water.  This stuff just doesn’t want to leave southern California.  Hopefully, the first winter swell that is just about to arrive, will push it down the coast for some clear water.

Here is Dave Avary again, as he approaches someone’s head, that was a little too close for his projected bottom turn.

Dave Avary, of Norcal, is seen here hiding deep in a Mexican barrel.  It’s nice to see that somebody is getting some rideable surf, as we have been in a “limbo” surf pattern for a month. We should be getting our first look at some winter surf in the next couple of days, as our first little storm approaches us from the north today(10/10/11).

Despite the sinus infection causing red tide, Owen

shoots through the plankton with blatant disregard.

We are all a little sick of the rust-colored water and

hope that the storm coming this week flushes it away.

The only problem, is that Ernesto has never been on a

surfboard!  Well, it’s never too late to learn!!

I recently shaped this Sauritch Mini Egg

for a customer up in Huntington Beach

named Marjun Advincula.  This board’s

dimensions are  5′-10″  x  20″  x  2 3/8″

and comes as a tri fin, but can also be

ridden as a quad for fast, down-the-line

speed and quick bottom turns.  Marjun

sent me this pic and says he is in love

with it’s performance!

This is Owen Kaestner at Seaside Reef last Tuesday

while another swell arrived out of the southwest, for

some really fun shoulder to head high surf.  This was

Owen’s brand new board that broke in half the day

after this photo was taken.

The Stabilizer is a wider version of the CRT model

by Sauritch Surfboards.  This board is 6′-4″  x  20 1/2″  x  2 5/8″

and can handle a wide range of surfing conditions.

Ride this board in small to overhead surf and cut back

smoothly, while catching lots of waves, due to the ample

amount of volume.

This swell later moved up to So Cal with no shape.

I actually shaped this back in 1971 for

a guy named Don MacLean in my old

shaping room in my parent’s garage.
